The immersion ultrasonic testing is one of the modern efficient NDT methods used for inspection of advanced composite aircraft structures. The technique is characterized by contactless inspection possibility, optimal acoustic coupling conditions, high productivity and automation possibility of the NDT process. These advantages were the main reason of implementation of immersion C-scan NDT technology in VZLÚ, a.s. The paper gives basic information about immersion inspection techniques, NDT equipment andpresent R&D activities realized in VZLÚ, a.s.
