Pomocí isoenzymových analýzn byly testovány dvě dílčí populace smrku ztepilého z Krkonoš a z Krušných hor. K testům byly použity čtyři enzymatické systémy: AAT (GOT), GDH, G-6-PDH, SDH, přičemž v případě systémů 6-6PDH a GOT naznačily získané výsledky testů statisticky významné rozdíly mezi testovanými populacemi. Příčinou mohou být rozdílné geografické faktory, stejně jako rozdílné klimatické podmínky ověřovaných jednotek a nestejná úroveň imisního zatížení, včetně rozdílných charakteristik příslušnýchekotypů i rozdílných charakteristik jednotlivých stromů v obou populacích.
