The object of our study was to investigate forest-floor humus conditions in relation to thinning in spruce stands on former agricultural land. The experiment was established in 25 years old spruce stands initially planted in 1964 and humus sampling was done in November 2005 at the age of 66 years. Two variants were compared: Control ? unthinned plot, Thinned ? plot with negative selection from below. The results of investigation showed that holorganic horizons (L+F+H) accumulated approximately 124,000 ?132,000 kg.ha-1 of dry biomass. However, nearly ten years after last thinning, there were found no significant differences in humus conditions between two investigated variants.

Czech description
Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit poměry nadložního humusu ve vztahu k výchově smrkových porostů na bývalé zemědělské půdě. Experiment byl založen v tehdy 25letém smrkovém porostu vysázeném v roce 1964; vzorky humusu byly odebrány v listopadu 2005 ve věku porostu 66 let. Byly srovnávány dvě varianty: Kontrola ? bez zásahu, Zásah ? negativní výběr v podúrovni. Výsledky šetření ukázaly, že v holorganických horizontech (L+F+H) bylo akumulováno přibližně 124 ? 132 tun sušiny na hektar. Nicméně, téměř deset let poposledním zásahu, zde nejsou zřejmé signifikantní rozdíly v humusových poměrech mezi sledovanými variantami.
