Douglas-fir is the most spread introduced conifer growing in the conditions of western and central Europe. Its share in Czech forests, however, still remains some tens of per cent only. One of the tools that help to improve the situation is the project "Slvicultural treatments used at introducing Douglas-fir into stand mixtures in the conditions of the Czech Republic" enabling to gather new important knowledge about this topic.
