The influence of selected contamined sites on the river Labe in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The presented paper summarizes results of long term research of important industrial contaminated sites near the Labe river and their influence on the river. Detailed research has been carried out at four important contaminated localities: Synthesia at the Pardubice, Spolchemie at the Ústí nad Labem, Spolana at the Neratovice and Lučební závody Draslovka at the Kolín. The intake of selected contaminants by groundwater of shallow aquifer in surface water of the Labe river was quantified. The level of contamination of the contaminated sites and their surrounding was evaluated. The complex mathematical models of groundwater flow at the areas of interest and transport of selected contaminants in the Labe River were designed. Where it was possible the modeled a measured concentrations were compared. From the research carried out so far follows that the contaminated site Synthesia has the biggest negative influence.
