Groundwater movement and discharge in the watershed of the River Labe in Děčín, North - West Bohemia and numerical simulation modeling of steady and transient state scenarios
Original language description
The increasing demand and suitability of the River Labe for boat transportation in the town of Děčín, has led to a plan for further actions on management of the river level by constructing a weir. The groundwater and surface water interaction and generalgroundwater movement from previous investigations indicate that there is a strict relationship between the river water level and the groundwater level. The River Labe is main drainage for the groundwater system in the aquifer of the area. The aim of study was to determine the relationship of the surface and groundwater interactions and to develop a management tool that could be used to estimate the effects that future stresses may have on the groundwater system in the study area, Děčín. Visual MODFLOWwas used to carry out numerical simulation of groundwater flow and movement of particles in the River Labe in Děčín.
