    This study was aimed at the investigation of the relationship between common APOA5 gene variants and body weight/ plasma lipid decrease in overweight females. We analyzed 98 unrelated overweight and obese non-diabetic Czech females (BMI over 27.5 kg/m2).APOA5 T-1131>C and Ser19>Trp variants were genotyped. Before and after 9 weeks of lifestyle modification, biochemical and anthropometrical measurements and assessment of nutritional intake were performed.APOA5 gene variants have effects on the decreaseof plasma TG and LDL- cholesterol level in females in a model combining their dietary habits and physical activity changes.

    Mezi geny, které mohou ovlivnit vývoj BMI a lipidových parametrů v dietně/intervenčních studiích patří i gen pro apolipoprotein A5 (APOA5). APOA5 varianty T-1131>C, Ser19>Trp jsme sledovali u 98 žen s nadváhou a obezitou, které se účastnily devítitýdenníintervenční studie zahrnující dietní modifikaci a zvýšení fyzické aktivity. Varianty v genech pro ghrelin a APOA5 byly analyzovány pomocí PCR a restrikční analýzy. Lipidové parametry byly analyzovány enzymaticky. Gen pro APOA5 má vliv na pokles hladin triglyceridů a LDL-cholesterolu u žen účastnících se dietně fyzické intervence.
