Polygenic risk scores to predict cardiovascular and renal complications
Original language description
The seminar focused on genetic approaches to predicting the complications of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The event was divided into three sections:1.Polygenic risk scores for predicting cardiovascular and renal complications in patients with type 2 diabetes. The seminar's keynote lecture presented the concept of polygenic risk scores and their application in predicting these complications. The results of the latest research were presented and the practical applications of these findings in clinical practice were discussed.2.Introduction and clinical characteristics of the CORDIA studyThis section provided a description of the clinical characteristics of CORDIA study participants, with an emphasis on the phenotype groups that IKEM has in the DT1 cohort.3.The GENOCORDIA study and new directionsA presentation of the GENOCORDIA study, including the plan for identifying genetic markers of type 1 diabetes and its complications, as well as new research directions and future perspectives in this field.
