Original language description
This database presents detailed information on most type specimens of newly described taxa of non-lichenized fungi, stored in the collection of the Mycological Department of the National Museum in Prague. The mycological collection (fungarium) has the international abbreviation PRM and contains types from the foundation of the museum in 1818 to the present. Geographically, it covers the entire world with a predominance of collections from Europe (especially Central), Asia and North America. An overview of the most important authors of new taxa, whose types are stored in PRM, is given in the Important collectors menu. The types of the most famous mycological personality associated with the National Museum - A.C.J. Corda (1809-1849) - are listed in the PRMtypesCorda database. A separate database will be dedicated to lichenized fungi (lichens) in the future.
