    Our data suggest that circulating CD34+ cord blood cells may contains subsets of cells with strong pro-angiogenic attributes including high Ang-2 and VEGF expression. Ang-2 expressing CD34+ cord blood cells might represent circulating endothelial precursors (CEPs). This is the first evidence of high expression of Ang-2 in circulating CD34+ cells (or in a subset of them).
