Role of HPV in the origin of malignant and non-malignant diseases of the male urogenital tract.
Original language description
Large heterogeneity of human papillomaviruses is present in the male urogenital tract but no anatomical site of the urogenital tract we had sampled show positivity in the majority of cases to validate the hypothesis of the HPV-reservoir. Even though we found HPVs in samples of prostate tumor the number was not higher than in non-tumor tissue. These results add the evidence for falsification of the hypothesis of the etiological role of HPV in malignances of the male urogenital tract.
