Heterogeneity of telomere length and telomerase activity in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and their prognostic value for leukemic transformation.
Original language description
Untreated AML and conversion of MDS toward overt leukemia was connected with significant increase of telomerase activity and with the presence of shortened telomeres. Significant negative correlation between telomere length and IPSS score in MDS patientsindicates creditability of telomere dynamics as prognostic factor.
