Peripheral biological markers and the diagnosis of Alzheimer`s disease.
Original language description
The etiology and diagnosis of Alzheimer`s disease (AD) lacks so far clear biological marker. The differential diagnoisis of AD thus remain elusive, based on a series of subjective diagnostic criteria that rely heavily on the clinician`s experience and finally on the postmortem brain examination. Therefore the use of peripheral markers could provide a useful tool either to predict or at least confirm a diagnosis. On the basis of literary review as well as on the basis of own results, this contribution present knowledge about the use of peripheral markers in the antemortem diagnosis of AD.
