Analyses focused on mid- and long-term trends and short-term dynamics of runoff water in the Lysina catchment (Czech Republic) and Lehstenbach catchment (Germany). The most substantial difference between the sites is the thickness of the regolith which is about 2,5 m at Lysina and up to 40 m at Lehstenbach. Process-based model was developed to simulate the observed sulfate dynamics. The key process considered in the model is adsorption and desorption of sulfate along the respective flowpaths. A detaileduncertainty analysis was performed.
