Monitoring and modeling of long-term changes in streamwater chemistry in two small catchments with contrasting vulnerability to acidification
Original language description
Ĺong-term streamwater patterns in two catchments exhibiting different geology were investigated. Lysina catchment is underlain by base-poor leucogranite, Pluhuv Bor catchments is underlain by base-rich (Mg) serpentinite. Rapid decline of sulfate is accompanied by a decrease of base cations. These declines correspond with very slight changes of pH. According to the MAGIC model, streamwater pH and soil base saturation will increase slightly in the future (year 2030).
