The Lower Paleozoic clastic in the Měnín-1 borehole (Southern Moravia, Czech Rapublic)
Original language description
Thick complex of unmetamorphosed clastic sediments is overlying the Neoproterozoic crystalline rocks of Brunovistulicum. These relatively ?monotonous? rocks are informally called ?basal clastics?. Their age based on paleontological findings is ranging from the Lower Devonian to the Early Cambriam. The most complete profile of these Lower Paleozoic clastic has been recovered in the Měnín-1 berehole. The basal part of the profile consists mostly of poorly sorted subarkoses and arcosic sandstones with aminas of conglomerates. The upper part consists mostly of sorted and unsorted subarkoses and quartzose sandstones.
