Original language description
The most important goal of this project was study of natural risks related to geological structure. The area mapped covers the area approx. 700 Km2 and is located into the eastern edge of the Main Ethiopian Rift. In the area dominate very young acid volcanics on Neogene to Quaternary age along with subsequent sediments. Elevated hazards of landslides and soil erosion were locally recognized in geomorphologically exposed places and also elevated volcanic hazard of pyroclastic fall at potential volcanic eruption of the Wendo Koshe volcano (west from the sheet).
