4.2 Czech Republic (Country Report)
Original language description
Succeptibility of forested areas to acidification within the Czech Republic was evaluated by GIS analysis and presented in the form of a map of the whole country. Almost 5800 individual Czech streams sampled in 2007-2010 in baseflow conditions were also evaluated with respect of acid-base chemistry and acidification status. Acidified areas were shown in maps of the whole country. Case study about the Černé Lake in the Bohemian Forest assessed details of long-term development o lake chemistry and biology. Information about long-term acidification monitoring programme, e.g. in the frame of the GEOMON network of small forest catchments was included too in this chapter.
