The main topic of the meeting was the information sharing and discussion on strategic developments for the future Geological service for Europe. The achievements and plans of the SIEG were widely discussed. The discussion covered the content, operation and priorities for the development of EGDI, in particular the design of the governance and specifically the Editorial Board. The progress of EPOS and the contribution of EGS and EGDI to this infrastructure was presented. A significant part of the discussion was devoted to contributions from other EGS Expert Groups regarding their expectations and how to work with EGDI. Progress in the formulation of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the key position of geoinformatics were presented and discussed.
