Original language description
The main topic of the meeting was the information on the update of the EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) Strategy. It defines the main priorities as resourcing Europe, energy transition and decarbonisation, enhancing the security and well-being of EU citizens, and the subsurface in Europe's Digital Twin. The latter is the main objective of the SIEG. The creation of the Geological Service for Europe is a key tool for achieving these objectives. SIEG achievements and plans were widely discussed. The key discussion focused on the content, governance, operation and development priorities of EGDI. The progress of EGDI within the GSEU project (Coordination and Support Action) was presented. The concept of EGDI/GSEU knowledge infrastructure and proposed connections to the other infrastructures like EPOS were also evaluated. It also included a discussion on the possibilities for the use of new technologies that will be formulated within the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
