Susceptibility of the spider Theridion impressum to 17 pesticides.

  • Original language description

Susceptibility of immature individuals of Theridion impressum to 17 pesticides was tested in laboratory. Broad-spectrum insecticides, cypermethrin+chlorpyrofos, alpha-cypermethrin and deltamethrin, were toxic to spiders. Selective insecticides pirimicarb, Bacillus thuringiensis and triazamate were harmless. All tested acaricides, pirimiphos-methyl, flufenoxuron, fluvalinate+thiometon and bifenthrin showed high toxicity. Of fungicides, dithianon, benomyl, iprodione and dodine, only dithianon was slightlyharmful, while remaining fungicides were harmful. All herbicides, metazachlor, clomazone and clopyralid, were harmless to T. impressum.
