Rust resistance derived from Aegilops ventricosa in wheat cultivars registered in the Czech Republic
Original language description
At present alien sources of rust resistance are commonly used in the wheat breeding. Many West European wheat cultivars possess rust resistance derived from a translocation from Aegilops ventricosa. With the molecular marker SCAR SC-Y15 (Robert et al. 1999) we have proved presence of the gene cluster with Yr17, Lr37 and Sr38 in cv. Clever and confirmed it in cv. Corsaire. In disagreement with our previous results we have not proved it in cv. Complet. Reactions of cvs Bill, Clever and Corsaire to a set of leaf rust isolates indicate that they have also other gene(s) for leaf rust resistance in addition to Lr37.
