Wheat genetic resources were gathered in the former Czechoslovakia since the beginning of the last century. Systematic gathering and evaluation of wheat collection started in the 50ies. Number of wheat accessions has increased up to 9,969 samples kept atpresent in the Czech gene bank. Their passport data are available on-line in the electronic crop catalogue at http://genbank.vurv.cz/genetic/resources/. The characterisation and evaluation data x results of at least two years' evaluation x are accessibleup on request in the gene bank department as well. The wheat collection is divided from practical reason into two sub-collections x for winter and spring forms separately. Both sub-collections include wide range of species belonging to the genus Triticum L. In addition to two widely utilised species T. aestivum L. and T. durum DESF. another 29 species are presented in the collection. Among them T. spelta L. and T. dicoccum (SCHRANK) SCHUEBL started to be grown by organic farmers. In 200

Genetické zdroje pšenice byly shromažďovány v bývalém Československu od počátku minulého století. Systematické shromažďování a hodnocení kolekce pšenice začalo v padesátých letech. Počet genetických zdrojů pšenice se zvyšoval na 9969 vzorků uchovávanýchvsoučasné době v České genové bance. Jejich pasportní data jsou dostupná také na internetové adrese http://genbank.vurv.cz/genetic/resources/. Popisná data x výsledky nejméně dvouletého hodnocení - jsou dostupná v genové bance. Kolekce pšenice je z praktického důvodu rozdělena na dvě sub-kolekce: zvlášť pro ozimé a jarní formy. Obě sub-kolekce zahrnují široké spektrum druhů patřících do rodu Triticum L. Kromě dvou široce využívaných druhů T. aestivum L. a T. durum DESF. je zastoupeno v kolekci dalších 29 druhů. Z nich T. spelta L. a T. dicoccum (SCHRANK) SCHUBEL začínají být pěstovány ekologickými farmáři. V roce 2001 byla registrována odrůda pšenice špaldy 'Rubiota' a v poslední době byla navržena k právní ochraně dvouzrnka 'Rudico'. D
