Collection of cereal genetic resource consists in addition to other species of 10.348 wheat, 1.866 winter barley and 488 triticale accessions maintained in the Czech gene bank. Their passport data are available online at http://genbank.vurv.cz/genetic/resources. The characterisation and evaluation data are accessible on request in the gene bank. Wheat collection includes wide range of species belonging to the genus Triticum L. In addition to two widely utilised species T aestivum L. and T. durum DESF, another 29 species are presented in the collection. Among them T. spelta L. and T. dicoccum (SCHRANK) SCHUEBL have been grown by organic farmers recently. In 2001 the spelt wheat cultivar 'Rubiota' was registered and recently, the emmer 'Rudico' gained legal protection. Other Triticum species can be used for breeding purposes as donors of valuable characters. Czech description

Kolekce genetických zdrojů obilnin se skládá, kromě jiných druhů, z 10 348 vzorků pšenice, 1 866 ozimých ječmenů a 488 tritikale uchovávaných v současné době v české genové bance. Jejich pasportní data jsou dostupná online na adrese http://genbank.vurv.cz/genetic/resources. Charakterizační a popisná data jsou dostupná na vyžádání v oddělení genové banky. Kolekce pšenice zahrnuje širokou škálu druhů, patřících do rodu tritium L. Kromě dvou široce využívaných druhů T. aestivum L. a T. durum DESF je v kolekci dalších 29 druhů. Z nich jsou T. spelta L. a T. dicoccum (SCHRANK) SCHUEBL v poslední době pěstovány ekologickými farmáři. V roce 2001 byla registrována ozimá odrůda pšenice špaldy Rubiota a nedávno získala odrůda pšenice dvouzrnky Rudico právní ochranu. Další druhy rodu Triticum mohou být využívány pro šlechtitelské účely jako donory cenných vlastností a znaků. Například geny rezistence k padlí travnímu byly přeneseny do registrované odrůdy pšenice seté Vlasta z T. monococcum.
