Biomass production and growth dynamic of Lactuca tatarica in pot experiments

  • Original language description

Summary In the Czech Republic Lactuca tatarica spreads step by step in the warmest country areas. The plant has its origin in central parts of Asia and South-East Europe (e.g. Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania), where it is a very difficult and hardly perished weed. Currently it occurs in a lot of countries in Europe (apart from the area of original spread; e.g. Slovakia, Poland) and we can suppose further spread to other areas with convenient climate conditions (continental type of climate). In a few model pot experiments we focused on observing the production of above and below ground biomass, shoots and rootstocks during vegetation period (April-October) in 2004 and 2005. The plant produces an average of 48 aerial shoots and 9725 cm of rootstocks during vegetation period. In addition we observed the influence of continuous outplanting (April, May, June, July) of L. tatarica on biomass production and rhizome length. At the end of vegetation (October) the rootstock and

Produkce biomasy a dynamika růstu Lactuca tatarica v nádobových pokusech

  • Czech description

V České republice je Lactuca tatarica lokálně rozšířena roztoušeně v teplejších oblastech. Rostlina pochází ze střední Asie a a jihovýchodní Evropy, kde patří mezi hospodářsky významné plevele. V modelových nádobových pokusech v letech 2004 - 2005 byla sledována produkce nadzemní i podzemní biomasy a tvorba kořenových výběžků.
