The differences in dehydrin accumulation of winter wheat and barley
Original language description
A correlation between dehydrin transcript and protein relative accumulation and plant winter survival values was found regardless (independently) of winter cultivars evaluated, field location and winter season; however, the correlation was found only in early winter samplings in non-vernalized plants. Dehydrin proteins and transcripts can be thus used as reliable markers of plant frost tolerance not only in controlled growth conditions, but also in field conditions.
