Research on common bunt of wheat at the Crop Research Institute within the ECOBREED project
Original language description
In ECOBREED trials, parents of populations, sources of resistance and breeding lines of wheat are tested for response to common bunt in Prague, Czech Republic, and in Tulln, Austria. A comparison of the results from both sites shows that some European varieties carry bunt resistance genes. Four varieties had resistance genes effective only against the inoculum used in Prague, but were susceptible in Tulln. Reaction to dwarf bunt have been also recorded.
