Original language description
Research on biopesticides has identified essential oils as a safe, biodegradable alternative to synthetic options. Oregano essential oil, with strong fungicidal properties, was encapsulated in alginate microcapsules using coaxial electrospray for agricultural use. A custom device produced microcapsules with a 29.96+-8.54 μm diameter at 5000 V, with improved uniformity at higher voltages. The optimal setup (20 mm contact distance) yielded spherical microcapsules with consistent size and shape.
