Advances in Cryopreservation Strategies for Vegetatively Propagated Plants
Original language description
The seminar focuses on recent advancements in plant cryopreservation, particularly for vegetatively propagated species. It highlights optimized methods for preserving plant genetic resources, including garlic and raspberry, with emphasis on controlling ice formation during freezing and thawing. Presented results include the application of the vitrification solution PVS3 for garlic basal plate cryopreservation and the importance of moisture regulation and thawing rates for dormant raspberry buds. The seminar also covers advanced in vitro recovery techniques following cryostorage and emerging approaches involving nanoparticles and their interactions with cryoprotectants in model membrane systems.
