    CONTRASTING THE EFFECTS OF FUSARIUM HEAD BLIGHT AND BLACK POINT ON WHEAT

    The spread of black wheat germ and its impact on the yield and sowing quality of seedsin comparison with Fusarium head blight was studied. Analysis of grain of four varieties (Mersedes, Adina, Steffi, LG Mokka), grown in the Czech Republic, showed that infection with Fusarium head blight significantly reduces the weight of 1000 seeds and contributes to the accumulation of mycotoxins. In contrast, black germ of the Alternaria type does not have a negative effect on sowing quality, and the vigor index of seedlings from affected grain exceeds that of healthy seeds.
