Genetic parameters were estimated from a five-trait animal model including the traits average daily gain (ADG) and lean meat content (LM) from the field test and the reproduction traits number of piglets born alive (NBA), number of piglets weaned (NW) and weaning weight at 21 days (WW). The estimates of heritability were: ADG 0.26, LM 0.54, NBA 0.08, NW 0.08, WW 0.07. The proportion of variance caused by litter environment was 0.12 for ADG and 0.05 for LM. The proportion of variance caused by herd-year-season was 0.19 for ADG, 0.06 for LM, 0.05 for NBA and NW, 0.07 for WW. The proportion of the permanent effect of the sow was 0.03 for NBA and NW and 0.07 for WW.
