Performance of grandparents, parents and final hybrids of broiler rabbits HY 2000 and HY PLUS

Original language description

Reproduction of dam lines and growth ability of broilers (HY PLUS, HY 2000) including fattening performance and carcass quality of their offspring-final hybrids of two broiler rabbit gene pools were analysed. Does of HY PLUS dam lines achieved a higher litter size (HY PLUS: 8.85; HY 2000: 8.34) and better fertility rate (HY PLUS: 78.5%; HY 2000: 71.08%) than the HY 2000 does. Better growth ability occurred in the HY PLUS grandparent and parent in comparison with both the HY 2000 parent lines. The highest growth intensity was found for the final hybrids whose parents descended from both the analysed gene pools. The final hybrid ?HY PLUS GD64 x ?HY2000 P443 was slaughtered at 84 days of age with a mean body weight of 3008.4 g.
