Improved Valachian (IV) and Šumava Sheep (S) are the breeds of sheep adapted very well to the natural conditions of mountainous regions of the Czech Republic. The S originate from south-west part of country and is included in the Zaupel group of sheep breeds. IV is a breed of sheep from Zackel family and is kept in the north-eastern part of country mainly in the Beskydy mountains. Both breeds are medium sized with mixed fleece. So
