New developments of breeding value estimation for sire pig breeds in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The following changes are intended in the breeding value estimation of sire pig breeds in the Czech Republic: crossbred information should be used in addition to purebred information and genetic groups should be introduced. The formation of 18 genetic groups is proposed. The introduction of genetic groups resulted in a considerable increase in the variance of breeding values and had a greater impact on changes in ranking of animals than the introduction of crossbred information. The breeding values of 1alues of 11 active imported boars are discussed in detail.
