Performance test data from 11039 station-tested purebred, 65313 field-tested purebred (breeds: Duroc - D, Belgian Landrace - BL, Hampshire - H, Pietrain - P, Czech Meat Pig - CMP and a sire line of Large White - LW) and 17004 field-tested crossbred animals were used. The exact solutions were calculated for four four-trait animal models: (without/with crossbred information and without/with genetic groups). A model with genetic groups and without crossbred information seems to be best suited for the giventhe given breeding goal (8*daily gain in field + 600 valuable cuts on station). The importance of the use of crossbred information may grow when increasing the economic weight for daily gain in the total breeding value.
