Original language description
Coypus (Myocastor coypus) and rabbits are medium-sized herbivore animals with similar morphological features of the digestive tract. In both species the caecum is the primary site of digesta retention and microbial fermentation. Comparative nutritional trials with coypus and rabbits are scarce. In this study, weights of digestive organs and some parameters of their contents were determined in coypus and rabbits fed the same diet ad libitum.

Czech description
Nutrie (Myocastor coypus) a králíci jsou středně velcí býložravci s podobnými morfologickými vlastnostmi trávicího traktu. U obou druhů je slepé střevo primárním místem zdržení zažitiny a mikrobiální fermentace. Srovnávacích výživových pokusů s nutriemia králíky je nedostatek. V této práci byly zjišťovány hmotnosti trávicích orgánů a některé parametry jejich obsahu u nutrií a králíků krmených ad libitum stejnou krmnou dávkou.
