Original language description
The caecal fermentation patterns were investigated in coypus (Myocaster coypus) and in two groups of rabbits. Caecal dry matter concentrations in coypus were significantly lower than in rabbits of either group. Molar percentage of acetate was lower and that of propionate higher in coypus. Total in vitro volatile fatty acids production was similar in all incubations.
