Enumeration and identification of moulds in samples of black tea from different geographic regions

  • Original language description

Twenty-eight samples of black tea from Argentina, Ecuador, India, Sri Lanka, China and Vietnam were examined for the presence of moulds. Average mould counts varied from 164 to 303 spores per gram. No significant differences between samples from different countries were found. In total, 11172 mould isolates were identified. Aspergilus niget was the principal organism (88.6% of isolates), followed by moulds of the Penicillium genus (3.6%) and Paecilomyces genus (2.7%). Potentially toxinogenic moulds Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus were present at 0.84% of the total number of isolated strains.

Zjištění počtu a identifikace plísní ve vzorcích černého čaje z různých geografických oblastí

  • Czech description

Zjišťovali jsme přítomnost plísní ve 28 vzorcích černého čaje z Argentiny, Ekvádoru, Indie, Sri Lanky, Číny a Vietnamu. Průměrný počet spor kolísal od 164 do 303 v 1g. Celkem 11172 isolátů bylo identifikováno, většinou jako Aspergillus niger (88,6%), následovaný zástupci rodů Penicillium a Paecilomyces. Potenciálně toxinogenní plísně A. fovus a A. parasiticus představovaly 0,84% isolátů.
