Udder morphology traits were measured and subjectively assessed by the use of linear scores in ewes of Tsigai (T), Improved Walachian (IW) and Lacaune (LC) dairy breeds. Analysis of variance was conducted and correlations between udder measurements and linear scores were computed for individual examined breeds separately. Subjectively assessed linear scores for udder depth, cistern depth, teat position and teat size showed high correlations with actual measurements of the respective traits on udder in all examined breeds (rp = 0.65?0.80). Linear scores for cistern depth and teat position were highly correlated (rp = 0.84; 0.77 and 0.90 for T; IW and LC ewes), suggesting that they are nearly identical traits.

Vztah mezi vnějšími a vnitřními rozměry vemene a lineárním hodnocením tvarových vlastností vemene u dojných ovcí

Czech description

U ovcí dojných plemen cigája (C), zušlechtěná valaška (ZV) a lacaune (L) byly zjištěny rozměry vemene a charakteristiky lineárního popisu vemen. Byla provedena analýza variance a pro jednotlivá plemena byly vypočteny korelace mezi skutečnými rozměry vemene a lineárním hodnocením vemene. Subjektivní lineární hodnocení hloubky vemene, hloubky cisterny, polohy struků a velikosti struků vykázalo vysoké korelace se skutečnými rozměry vemene u všech zkoumaných plemen (rp = 0,65-0,80). Lineární charakteristikypro hloubku cisterny a polohu struků byly vysoce korelovány (rp = 0,84, 0,77 resp. 0,90 pro bahnice C, ZV a L), což naznačuje, že tyto charakteristiky jsou téměř rovnocenné.
