Original language description
Caprylic acid and TAG of caprylic and capric acid significantly reduced numbers of coliform bacteria in the caecum and faeces of rabbits experimentally infected with the enteropathogenic strain of Escherichia coli 0103. Although mortality of infected rabbits was decreased in treated groups, differences were nonsignificant. This could probably be attributed to a low number of rabbits in control and experimental group.

Czech description
Kyselina kaprylová a triglyceridy kyseliny kaprylové a kaprinové signifikantně snižovaly počet koliformních baktérií ve slepém střevě a výkalech králíků experimentálně nakažených enteropatogenním kmenem Escherichia coli 0103. Ačkoliv se mortalita nakažených králíků v ošetřených skupinách snižovala, rozdíly byly neprůkazné. Pravděpodobnou příčinou byl nízký počet králíků v kontrolní a pokusné skupině.
