Behaviour of Pigs
Original language description
All domestic pigs are descendants of the wild boar (Sus scrofa), a geographically widely distributed artiodactyl species belonging to the family Suidae. Wild boar is a versatile species capable of adjusting its way of life to different natural conditions. We will review various aspects of its natural behaviour at the beginning of each section of this chapter as a basis for understanding the behaviour of domestic pigs.
