Possibilities of the industrial of Aspergillus niger mycelial wastes of citric acid production
Original language description
The aim of the project is to suggest possibilities of the industrial utilization of Aspergillus niger mycelial wastes from citric acid production in a biotechnological plant in Czech republic. At present the main part of the mycelial waste is discarded to the sewage treatment system or burnt. The mycelial waste is one of the causes of environmental pollution. It contains a significant quantity of valuable substances, such as polysaccharides, incl. chitin and chitosan, proteins, incl. many enzymes, lipids and many others. The project includes two parts. The first part is a literature review on the possibilities of the industrial usage of the raw material wastes and of isolating valuable substances from the wastes asa well as their industrial using. Special attention is paid to chitin and chiotosan, valuable polysaccharides of the cell wals of the mould. The second part of the project contains several practical suggestions for the industrial usage of the mass biomass in Czech republic. u
