Occurrence of spontaneous inbreeding and its impact on the offspring of Populus nigra L.
Original language description
Controlled pollination was carried out in the Populus nigra L. relatives (sister x brother pollination, S x B). The gained offspring originated from open pollination (OP) the same mother was used for comparing. There was found 14% of viable plants originating from spontaneous inbreeding using the DNA analyses in our experiment. Inbreeding depression effect was determined in almost all evaluated characteristics (plant height, stem diameter and susceptibility to Melampsora larici-populina Kleb.).
