Original language description

The author has studied natural populations of all Eurasian species of pines during last 15 years for the purpose of taxonomic revision of the genus Pinus in the Old World Many new or supplementary pieces of knowledge and ample herbarium collections has been acquired mostly from the region of eastern Asia. Survey of the Eurasian species and infraspecific taxa of pines and their geographic distribution is given with lists of localities studied in field. Ten new nomenclatural combinations or rank changes is also given. Drawings of cones of all the species of Eurasian pines are added.
