Original language description
M.avium strains were consecutively isolated from sputum from one patient during 7 months of therapy. Serotyping and genotyping by standard RFLP analysis using specific element IS1245 were conducted for the precise differentiation of each strain. In morethan 50 strain, two serotypes of M. avium 6 and 9 were detected. Primary genotyping from 8 independent isolates from sputum resulted in identification of 4 RFLP types. After isolation of individual colonies were identified 20 new RFLP types.
