Embryos produced in vitro from bulls carrying 16;20 and 1;29 Robertsonian translocations: efficiency and kinetics of oocyte fertilization and embryo development

  • Original language description

Spermatozoa from bulls with rob(16;20), rob(1;29) and normal karyotype were used for in vitro fertilization of bovine oocytes. The rate of normally fertilized oocytes was significantly lower for rob(16;20) bull than for rob(1;29) or control bull. However,no significant differences in the kinetics of fertilization were found between bulls. D2 cleavage rate of embryos was significantly lower for rob(16;20) bull than for rob(1;29) or control bull. Both D7 and D8 blastocyst rates for rob(16;20) androb(1;29)bulls were significantly lower than those for control bull. The percentages of both D7 advanced blastocysts and D8 expanded blastocysts were significantly lower for rob(16;20) and rob(1;29) bulls than for control bull. In conclusion, for therob(16;20),theefficiency of fertil., early and advanced embryo development were strongly reduced. On the other hand, for the rob(1;29), neither fertil. nor early embryo development were affected and only advanced embryo development was decreased.

Embrya produkovaná in vitro od býků nositelů Robertsonských translokací 16;20 a 1;29: Efektivnost a kinetika fertilizace oocytů a vývoje embryí

  • Czech description

Spermie býků s translokací rob(16;20), rob(1;29) a s normálním karyotypem byly použity pro in vitro fertilizaci bovinních oocytů. Efektivnost oplození, časného i pozdního embryonálního vývoje byla výrazně redukována u translokace rob(16;20) ve srovnání snormálním karyotypem. Naproti tomu u translokace rob(1;29) jak oplození tak i časný vývoj embryí nebyly negativně ovlivněny, pouze vývoj u pozdních embryí byl redukován.
