The use of specific egg yolk antibodies for protection of calves against enteral infections
Original language description
IgY is the major immunoglobulin of avian blood serum and egg yolk. When hens are vaccinated with antigen of choice, isolated IgY can be used for preventive, therapeutic and diagnostic application. Its production is higher when compared with production ofpolyclonal antibodies isolated from serum of vaccinated mammalians. This work shows results of in vitro and in vivo experiments performed so far with the aim to prevent enteral infection, including infection with salmonella, Escherichia coli, rotaviruses and coronaviruses.
