The essence of a patent is a method for the detection and quantification of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) by polymerase chain reaction in real time with an internal amplification control. Detection and quantification of MAP in samples of animal and plant origin is performed by primers and probes that amplify two loci specific to MAP, IS900 and F57.
