    Lipidomics, the detailed study of lipids within biological systems, has become indispensable in xenobiochemistry and toxicology, particularly through the application of mass spectrometry (MS). This powerful technique enables precise identification and quantification of diverse lipid species, offering critical insights into the effects of xenobiotics on lipid metabolism and cellular functions. MS-based lipidomics allows for the detection of subtle yet significant alterations in lipid profiles, including changes in phospholipids, sphingolipids, and eicosanoids. These alterations can illuminate the mechanisms by which xenobiotics induce cellular stress, toxicity, membrane disruption, lipid peroxidation, and inflammatory signaling. Such insights are essential for identifying reliable biomarkers of exposure and for elucidating the molecular pathways involved in xenobiotic interactions.
