In the Czech Republic the increased attention is focused to examining position of different types of Czech farmers in different conditions in rural areas of the CR and comparing with the position of EU farmers before and after the EU enlargement. For theassessment of perspectives of different farm types there was developed a linear optimization model (FARMA-4), which enables simulations of economic behavior of farms in the actual and future economic conditions. For simulations with the model FARMA-4 there were used general assumptions mentioned in the paper. The model FARMA-4 enables comparisons of the economic position of Czech farmers with their EU colleagues and to assess EU "equal treatment" approach. Using of the model FARMA-4 was demonstrated onthe farm P1 (a small Czech family farm) which was modified for the Czech and Austrian farm types.
